The International Project Congress (IPC) organized a round table at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation to discuss the Israel-Palestine conflict. The event was attended by experts from 12 countries around the world and was moderated by Anna Abrazhenchik and Diana Kadyrova, the heads of the Public Diplomacy and University Cooperation departments of IPC, respectively.
The round table focused on the history and root causes of the conflict. Mahmoud El kot, Secretary of the Committee of Culture, Tourism and Media of Egypt, provided an extensive background on the conflict and expressed Egypt’s official position regarding the refugees from Gaza. Alena Bulgakova, Chairman of the RF OP Commission on Public Control and Work with Citizens’ Appeals, emphasized the importance of restoring and maintaining interstate cooperation based on the norms of international law.
Speakers from different countries gave their opinion on the conflict. Syed Sibte Hassan Rizvi, a journalist from Hum News Television in Pakistan, shared information about the protest situation in Pakistan against the backdrop of the Palestinian conflict. Afruza Tanzi, Chief Operating Officer of Protibha from It’s Humanity Foundation in Bangladesh, called for boycotting Israel at international diplomatic platforms until the shelling of Palestinian civilians stops. Samia Khamis, a political expert from Jordan who has Palestinian roots, called for expanding discussions on Middle East issues to form an objective picture of the world among young people. Finally, John Aggrey, Founder and CEO of HIRED Consult from Ghana, suggested that a neutral party could resolve the conflict.
This is the sixth event organized by the IPC at the site of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. The IPC is a platform that brings together young leaders from 41 countries around the world, including senators and deputies of national parliaments, leaders of youth and public organizations, rectors and representatives of universities, famous journalists and other public figures. The main activities are project exchange, media development, and university cooperation.
